February 24 - 28

Welcome, AP! This week there are a couple of changes to our regular routine due to junior scheduling and a district meeting I have to attend on Wednesday:

1. NO QUIZ this week.
2. You'll write the second in-class argument essay prompt on Wednesday. You'll have the entire class period to do it. I think the classes are in really good shape and are ready!

MONDAY: Junior scheduling. Receive paper copy of Gatsby extension packet. Read articles about homelessness for Friday.

DuePlease read and annotate "Excerpts from On the Clock" page 1 - 9 in the Gatsby Extension Pack, as well as "The Gig Economy is Coming For Your Job" plus comments, pages 41 - 47.

If you know which field or profession you're interested in, how has technology changed it over the last ten years? How do you imagine or how is technology projected to change this profession or field in the next ten years? Be ready to discuss.

Homework: Please look up the argument essay comments on Turnitin.com and review them. If your score is below a 90, you may want to rewrite so the scores can be averaged.

FRIDAY: Journal warm-up about reading from earlier in the week and articles about the homeless. Receive vocabulary list for next week. Homelessness articles and video clips. Homeless roundtable "city council"-style discussion.

Due: Read pages 10-17 in the Gatsby Extension Pack about homelessness.

Homework: Please read pages 31-40 in the Gatsby Extension Pack about Universal Basic Income. Feel free to explore other credible sources for information about it. We will discuss/debate next class.
